Autumn Radtke, 28, was CEO of First Meta, a virtual currency exchange based in Singapore.The company allowed users to buy and sell virtual currencies, as well as exchange national currencies for virtual currencies and virtual currencies for national currencies, according to Forbes.
On the website Quora, Radtke described her company as a virtual currency exchange that takes "virtual currencies and pay out real $ via paypal."
A note on the company's website said, "The First Meta team is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke. Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Autumn was an inspiration to all of us and she will be sorely missed."
According to the website, Radtke had lived in Singapore since January of 2012.
The final posts on her Facebook account were from February 10. The second to the last was a link to a story on the psychological price of entrepreneurship.
The article, from Inc.com, discussed the internal struggles of startup CEOs and the effects the severe stress they are often under can have.
Radtke wrote, "everything has its price," over the piece.
Her body was discovered in her apartment on February 28, the Daily Mail newspaper in London reported. The cause of death is still under investigation. A call to the Singapore Police Force Wednesday was not immediately returned.
Services for Radtke were held Wednesday near her family home in Hales Corners, Wis.
